Have you ever seen how honey is harvested? Get an up close and personal look as the beekeepers at Howell Living History Farm open up their beehives and collect honey. Families can learn about queens, drones and worker bees, help extract the honey, and see how beehives work with a look inside. FREE, 10am-4pm. www.howellfarm.org

Or if butterflies are more your speed, bring the family to the Stony Brook Millstone Watershed’s Butterfly Festival! This weekend will be SUPER – with a Super Moon! Take in the super moon and the Perseid Meteor Shower by bike with the Mercer County Park Commission’s ‘Super Moon Bike Ride.’ The six mile trail ride will cover the Lawrence Hopewell Trail, the Maidenhead Trail and the Twin Pines Trail, and should take about 45 minutes.
