What would it be like if a storybook came to life? This burning question has left behind many a sleepless nights. Princyclopedia has arrived with an answer and good news. Princyclopedia is Cotsen Children’s Library’s annual event where a book is brought to life through hands-on projects, activities, live shows, and demonstrations. Since this year’s book is Robin Hood, it looks like Princeton might have to break out the tights, cloaks and bows & arrows for this medieval festivity
If you’re not sure what to expect, then think of seeing period weapons in action, sampling mead, storming a castle, testing your survival skills in Sherwood Forest, illuminating a manuscript, meeting live falcons, discovering the science of stained glass, examining a longbow, exploring an alchemist’s workshop, and listening to some tunes from musicians that will have you thinking you’ve stepped back into merrie olde England.
Labyrinth Books, a year-round collection site for the Crisis Ministry, will be hosting a food drive table at the Princyclopedia in honor of Robin Hood. Make sure to bring non-perishable food items that will then be distributed to the Crisis Ministry of Princeton.
Princyclopedia will be held on Saturday, April 14th from 10:00am – 3:00pm at the Dillion Gym on the Princeton University campus. It’s free of charge and for all ages.
