Clean out the garage! Get the junk out of the basement! It’s Household Hazardous Waste and Electronic Waste Disposal Day, Mercer County residents! From 8am-2pm, bring your ID and your items to the Fire School on Lawrence Station Road in Lawrence to get them disposed of safely and for free. The early birdwatcher sees the birds at Fiddler’s Creek Preserve on Baldpate Mountain. Washington Crossing Audubon Society invites you to join them for a free birding trip amongst fields and hedgerows, a popular spot for birders looking to see sparrows as they migrate south. Just because summer’s over doesn’t mean you can’t load up on delicious, locally grown bounty! The West Windsor Community Farmers Market (held in the Princeton Junction train station parking lot) and the Pennington Farmers Market (held at Rosedale Mill on Rt. 31) are still going strong, with local produce, fresh baked treats, live music and more. Both run from 9am-1pm.

Get a taste of the arts in Hopewell with the Annual Hopewell Tour Des Arts. Start at the Hopewell Train Station, then make your way through town for a self-guided tour of the town’s art scene that features over a dozen stops. FREE, Saturday and Sunday. 10am-5pm www.hopewellarts.com

Hinds Plaza will be the scene of some sonic mayhem on Sunday as it hosts Unruly Sounds, Princeton’s newest festival! Graduate composers from the university team up with local artists for an afternoon and evening full of fresh music, sponsored by Princeton Sound Kitchen, Princeton Public Library, and the Princeton Record Exchange.
