Morven In May

Morven In May

Could your wardrobe and jewelry collection use a little freshening? How about your house decorations and garden? Maybe your spirit, too? Morven in May (May 2nd, 3rd, and 4th) is the antidote for tired decors, humdrum wardrobes, cookie-cutter gardens, and weak inspiration.

Held on the grounds of Morven Museum & Garden, one of one of the most beautiful properties open to the public in Princeton, Morven in May kicks off on the evening of Friday, May 2nd, with a Preview Garden Party under a tent on the Great Lawn. Guests will enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres while browsing through an offering of inspiring work of 25 fine craft artisans from across the nation. Mediums include jewelry, furniture, ceramics, basketry, decorative and wearable fibers, and more! Their elegant yet whimsical pieces seem to capture the energy and creativity of Spring. For more information about these works, visit the Morven in May page on Morven’s website (click here) and visit Morven’s Facebook page (click here) for “Artist Spotlights” leading up to the event.

Preview Garden Party guests will also get first dibs at Morven’s annual heirloom plant sale. It will include unique varieties of annuals and perennials, carefully chosen flowering shrubs, hard-to-find heirlooms, and select plants propagated from Morven’s own lush gardens. The 2014 Plant Sale Catalog is available as PDF download on the Morven website (click here) or you can pick up a copy in the Museum Shop.

The fun will continue on Saturday, May 3rd (from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.) and Sunday, May 4th (from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.) as the event is open to the general public and includes a café catered by Emily’s Café & Catering and a scavenger hunt for children!

So, join us!  Tickets for the Preview Garden Party start at $125 and are available on Morven’s website (click here) or by calling (609)924-8144 ext.113. Tickets for the main craft tent admission on Saturday and Sunday will be available at the door and are $10; $8 for Friends of Morven. No tickets will be necessary for the Heirloom Plant Sale. Morven is located at 55 Stockton Street in Princeton.
