Friday December 16
Ever heard of the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory? It’s a state of the art energy research laboratory conducting research on fusion, and it’s right outside downtown Princeton. In addition to their research, education is also a mission of theirs. That’s why you can take a free tour of the world-class facility! The WOW Pop-up Gallery on Witherspoon–right next to Small World Coffee, where the Army Navy store used to be–is holding an Opening Reception for their latest exhibit this Friday night. Artists working in paint, pastel, ceramics, and fashion will be sharing their art, with proceeds from the sales benefitting the YWCA Princeton After School program. The opening is 5-8pm, but the show is open through 12/23.

You’ve seen “A Christmas Carol,” but now get a thespian’s take on the Dickens classic at the Arts Council of Princeton. In  “An Actor’s Carol,” written by local playwright Charles Evered where an actor who’s played Scrooge too many times is confronted by three ghosts of his own! $15, 8pm. www.artscouncilofprinceton.org

Saturday December 17
How about brunch with Santa? 12 Farms – the farm-to-table restaurant in Hightstown – is hosting Santa for brunch on Saturday! Kids can brunch on Sweet Crepes, Scrambled Eggs and Potatoes, or Pancakes for $7 each, which includes a photo with Santa. Grown ups will love their menu, too (Steak & eggs, anyone?) Princeton Symphony Orchestra presents Holiday POPS! Playing at Richardson Auditorium on Princeton University’s campus, the PSO will be joined by the Princeton High School Choir and the New Jersey Tap Ensemble for numbers like “The Nutcracker,” “Babes in Toyland,” and more. Sunday December 18
It’s the Winter Warm Up at MarketFair Mall! The West Windsor Arts Council brings performers, face painting, and hands on projects (make your own light-up cards with circuits on paper!) to the mall for the free event. Bundle up and hit the road with Sourland Cycles for their 3rd Annual Hopewell Boro Holiday Lights Ride! The family fun ride will winds through Hopewell Boro to see the light show and ends with light refreshments at the shop. (PS: Make sure your bike has lights–for safety!)
